Source Control plug-ins

Because of multiple development scenarios I use both VSS 6.0 and TFS for
source control. Unfortunately, the TFS database is only available via a VPN
connection and I don't always need the VPN open.

Is there a way to simplify switching between source control plug-ins within
VS 2005 (and/or 2008) without having to load VS first?

Can I create two different chortcuts to VS and tell one to use VSS and one
to use TFS? (Ideally, I'd like to create one that uses neither as well if
possible.)

Thanks,
John

Hi John,

AFAIK, the source control provider is stored with the solution. Source control bindings are stored in the .sln file.

So - if I'm not wrong - the Tools > Options dialog should only give a default for new solutions.

But that's only an assumption. I'm working with VSS and ClearCase here.

HTH,
Axel Dahmen
