I tried to install this on my machine (Vista), but right at first while it
was saying, "Setup is loading installation components," a window popped up
and said, "Windows XP Service Pack 2 Update Information."  It said I must
install Service Pack 2 before I continue.  With a different OS!   What gives?
I had Visual Studio 6 on XP, and I decided to put Visual Studio on my
destop, which has Vista on it.  I thought I didn't have a choice, if I am
going to use Visual Stusio.  Does VS 2008 require that you downgrade the OS?

Is anybody from Microsoft there?  The disk was "official," meaning it came
from Microsoft.  This is the same disk that Microsoft will give us all in a
couple of weeks. It is bad!  New computer, new disk and it doesn't work!  Can
anybody hear me?

My install on Vista x64 worked fine.

I think you need to run setup.exe as administrator.

Are you running Setup as Admin? Also, are you up to date on patches? Both
are known to cause problems. One more: Have you ever installed a beta
version on this machine? If so, clean it all up.

If still having issues, attempt .NET 3.5 install separate from the VS
install. If it errors, you should have a better log to work from. If not,
you may be golden.

I am trying to install VS2008 Team Ed Dev on VISTA the  installation fails
because it can not install NET 3.5 framework.  Will this KB 933595  fix it ?
Thanks

I am trying to install VS 2008 Pro on a fresh XP machine but the setup
fails with this log message:
ISetupComponent::Pre/Post/Install() failed in
ISetupManager::InternalInstallManager() with HRESULT -2147023293.

I've tried it several times now. .NET 3.5 is installed seperately but
this didn't help as well. It's always stopping after installing Web
Authoring and before VS 2008 Komponents.

Any idea?
