Visio for Enterprise Architects older as Visio2003 sp2?

Hello,

I installed Visio for Enterprise Architects (Team SuiteVS2005) in order to
integrate Visio with visual studio 2005 (reverse engineering functionality).
The current version Visio Pro 2003 does not integrates with Vs2005. This
install replaced my Visio Pro 2003 Sp2 installation (11.5509.6568) Visio.exe
file version 11.0.5509.0.

But it seems Visio for Enterprise architects is older (11.4301.6568 with
visio.exe file version 11.0.3216.0). I tried to install the service pack 2.
But the setup for Visio 2003 Sp2 does not install, because it does not find
the right Visio version.

There is a SP2 for Visio for Enterprise Architects? Or does not exist the
fixes of Visio 2003 Sp2 for this version?.
May be, I have to reinstall the Office 2003 version again because security
issues or some other fixes else?

Hi Edgar,

From your description, I understand you originally have VS 2005 TeamSuite
and VISIO 2003 PRO and currently found that you can not get the newly
installed VS 2003 ENT ARC work with VS 2005, correct?

For the VISIO 2003 ENT ARC(with VS 2005), I've seen someone encounter some
similar problems and sometime it is caused by the install sequence or some
former version of office that cause the problem. For your scenario, maybe
you install the visio office 2003 ent arc later later the VS 2005 and
existing visio 2003 pro is somewhat related to the behavior. If possible
you can first remove the visio program and the VS 2005 and reinstall them
via the following sequence:

*install visio first
*then, install VS 2005

BTW, for Visio 2003, it seems SP3 is also available and maybe you can
update to the latest one directly.

#Visio 2003 Service Pack 3 (SP3)

In addition, if you still can not remove the visio clearly, I suggest you
also post in some office or visio specific newsgroup for some further
suggestion about the visio cleanup or installation.

Sincerely,

Steven Cheng
