Hello,

I am trying to install Visual Studio 2005 in a Vista 32 Bit system, and
needless to say, I am struggling.  I have installed all updates for Vista.  I
have tried the installation with Windows Defender turned both on and off, as
well as all network connections and all anti-virus software.  My Visual
Studio is on a disc included in the Expression Studio Suite -- for Blend.

At a certain point in the installation, I am prompted to "Insert Visual
Studio DVD".    However, the DVD is already inserted.  Eventually, I have to
cancel the installation, as it can go no further.    I have two drives, and
both drives give me the same result.   I suspect that the DVD is also NOT the
problem, because this is the second set of DVD's of the software that I have
ordered after encountering this exact problem with the first set.

During the installation process, the prompt to insert the DVD comes with
the "Studio 8/SDK/V2.0/Bootstrapper/Packages/dotnetfx.exe supposedly ready to
be installed.   My most recent installation log is printed below.   Does
anyone have any ideas?   I will post an email below.

I am having the Same issue... I am installing Expression Studio and am
getting the same insert DVD ... however, I am using Windows XP Pro SP2 so I
don't believe it to be a OS issue.  Any help would be greatly aprreciated by
myself and I am sure Craig would too.  Thanks in advance.

This is what I found... if you copy the VS folder to your desktop and then
run setup.exe from that folder it will complete the installation.   I believe
if you burn a copy of the DVD and add a 1 after the name of the DVD it will
then install from the burned copy of the DVD.
