I just installed Visual Studio 6 on a Virtual PC running Windows XP Pro SP2.
Immediately upon completion of the installation - but before clicking OK on
the VCVars.bat message box that officially completes the installation, I got
a message from the Windows Firewall stating that Microsoft (R) Visual Studio
VSA RPC Event Creator was trying to access the network.
I've installed VS6 dozens of times and have never seen this before. While I
can tell that it is something to do with RPC, why am I seeing this for the
first time now? What exactly is it trying to do on the network? Should I
allow it?
There's unbelievably little information about the file online.
Thanks for any help,
Dale

Hi Dale,
Regarding on the "Visual Studio VSA RPC Event Creator", I have performed
some research and haven't found any partricular record indicate any know
issue of this component during setup. As you mentioned that you've never
encounter the same issue before, are you also installing vs 6 on a xp sp2
box and also using Virtual PC?
What I've found so far is that you can use some component or program
checking tools to verify the file information:
