- There is no operating system newsgroup so this is the nearest I could
find.

Step 1 in the process of using Visual Studio is to upgrade the development
machine to XP Pro.  I installed the Volume License Version of Windows XP Pro
SP2 (disc 2430.2) The first part went through OK. However, following
automated restart, the machine fails to reboot into the setup programme and
continuously reboots - attemps to repair via the setup choices failed- my
development machine is now left hanging part way through the setup
procedure - I am very reluctant to install a new copy of XP - For
information the file system is FAT32 - urgent assistance greatly appreciated

Hi JAD,

Regarding on the problem you mentioned, I think it would be better to
discuss in some XP related newsgroups. Though there is no newsgroup on this
in MSDN newsgroups(since MSDN is dedicated on developing issues), you can
still find some other non-dev newsgroups on XP:

Note: The MSDN Managed Newsgroup support offering is for non-urgent issues
where an initial response from the community or a Microsoft Support
Engineer within 1 business day is acceptable. Please note that each follow
up response may take approximately 2 business days as the support
professional working with you may need further investigation to reach the
most efficient resolution. The offering is not appropriate for situations
that require urgent, real-time or phone-based interactions or complex
project analysis and dump analysis issues. Issues of this nature are best
handled working with a dedicated Microsoft Support Engineer by contacting
Microsoft Customer Support Services (CSS) at
http://msdn.microsoft.com/subscriptions/support/default.aspx.

Steven,
Thanks. I will try this - my only concern is if this problem is specific to
the Volume License DVD 2430.2
