Hi;

I have tried to install the VS 2005 security release 3 times - and it fails
each time. What can I do to get this installed as it patches security holes
and so I really need it installed.

Hello Dave,

Regarding on your visual studio 2005 sp1 install failure, did you get any
error message or instruction or did you always fail at the same point(get
the same error)?

Based on my experience, a common problem is the "Software Restriction
Enforcement" check which require a large amount of sequential physical
memory. You can try disable it as indicated in the following articles, you
can find some other suggestion on installing VS 2005 sp1 there:

Hope this helps.

Sincerely,

Steven Cheng
