Hi Trapulo,
>Where is the option to start default browser (and
>not IE), and to leave it open after I stop debug?
I suggest you can right click one of your project's web file in the
solution explorer, in its context menu select Browse With... to invoke the
Browse With dialog window. Then you can select your favorite browser in
that dialog and set it as default browser in Visual Studio 2005.
If you use a non-IE browser when debugging your web site, the browser would
not be closed after you stopping the debugging, this is a by design
behavior in VS2005 IDE, there is no corresponding options to change it.
Thanks!
Best regards,
Gary Chang

Note: The MSDN Managed Newsgroup support offering is for non-urgent issues
where an initial response from the community or a Microsoft Support
Engineer within 1 business day is acceptable. Please note that each follow
up response may take approximately 2 business days as the support
professional working with you may need further investigation to reach the
most efficient resolution. The offering is not appropriate for situations
that require urgent, real-time or phone-based interactions or complex
project analysis and dump analysis issues. Issues of this nature are best
handled working with a dedicated Microsoft Support Engineer by contacting
Microsoft Customer Support Services (CSS) at

Thank you, this solve my problem! :)
P.S. I think that it's a lot more easy debug without close and reopen the
browser.. why VS has not an option to have this goal using IE as browser?

Thanks for the response, Trapulo!
I am glad that my suggestion helps.

It seems the product team guys have their own conventions, but I will
forward your concern to them for review.
Have a nice day!
