Visual Studio 6 SP 6 install error

I'm setting up a development laptop with Visual Studio 6 (also has VS 2003
and VS 2005). I've run Vs6sp6.exe and placed the extracted files to a
temporary folder. I then run setupsp6.exe from that folder and I immediately
receive an error dialog. It says:

C:\temp\setupsp6.exe
The specified path does not exist.
Check the path and then try again.

The path mentioned obviously exists since that's where I'm running the setup
from so I'm assuming it's referring to a different path. I've tried running
this from the MSDN disk and the online download with the same results. It
runs fine on my home PC so I believe it's something specific to this laptop
but I don't know where to look for answers. Does anyone have any information
on this issue?

I just tried running the setupsp6.exe from the cmd prompt and I got a "The
system cannot find the file c:\temp\setupsp6.exe" message.

It turns out that the acmsetup.exe was looking for an acmsetup.stf file,
which did not exist. I made a copy of the sp698ent.stf and renamed the copy
to acmsetup.stf. The setupsp6.exe still didn't run but I was able to run the
acmsetup.exe directly.
