It appears all has worked, but then at the last moment, I get an "the
component failed to install". The error report it generates says:

Does any of this make sense to anyone out there? Any suggestions on how I
might proceed to try to get this to install? (I've stopped all anti-virus
processes & every non-MS process I can spot, and am doing it as
Administrator. All prior versions of VS have been removed)
I'd greatly appreciate a suggestion or two.

I am getting the exact same error during my install. I am running as
Administrator under Windows XP (Pro). It happens every time I try to
install. FYI, I am using "Disc 3070" (December 2005) of my MSDN
subscription.
