Hi,

When I invoke the Document Explorer Help from Microsoft Visual Studio 2005,
I receive an error message that reads, "Microsoft Document Explorer has
encountered an internal error.", and "Microsoft Document Explorer may be
unstable now.".  I had a similar problem several months ago, and the only
way I could fix it back then was by re-installing my entire Windows XP OS
and all the development tools in the correct order (I use the embedded
development tools).  It's been working fine since then.  Now, all of a
sudden I'm having this problem again and I really don't want to have to
re-install everything again.  I did notice that it worked before I installed
Intuit Turbo Tax, and stopped working just after I installed it.  After
uninstalling Turbo Tax I still have the problem.  Any help would be greatly
appreciated.

Thanks.

Hi Mark,

I'd suggest you perform a repair installation of Microsoft Document
Explorer 2005 and see if this helps get rid of the problem.

Please open your VS2005 installation CD and get into \wcu\DExplore
directory. Run DExplore.exe to repair domcument explorer.

Please update here if issue persists. Thanks.

Best regards,

Has this problem been resolved yet?

Repair installation only fixes the problem until the next help search.
