Please suggest me any other 3rd party or Open Source tools
similar to VSS. I need to migrate the VSS database to some
other tool for some reasons. Its urgent.

CVS or SubVersion. You can download Perl scripts to convert from SourceSafe
to CVS, if you don't want to lose the history.

I use TortoiseCVS which comes with the client and front end, and seems to
work okay with a repository on a network drive. It includes a copy of
CVSNT, is completely free, and integrates with Windows Explorer.
