I am trying to deploy Visual Studio.NET 2003 to a classroom using Group
Policy in Windows Server 2003. I have followed standard procedure, first
installing to a workstation, and then using the install logfile to make an
MST with OCRA (As described on www.appdeployment.com). The program installs
perfectly when I use "Msiexec /i **.msi TRANSFORM=***.mst /qb-", but when I
add the MSI and MST to a GPO something weird happens.
The installation adds hundreds of warnings in the Event Viewer asking for
Crystal Reports (I have excluded Crystal Reports from the initial
installation, and it is not in the ADDLOCAL string.) It also adds shortcuts
on the Program Menu that I don't get when I use Msiexec.
I have managed to get a decent deployment by adding the Msiexec string to a
batchfile, but this is not the way I want to do it.
I have never experienced this problem before.
Both the Prerequisites and MSDN Libraries are installed without problems.
Has anybody had this happen to them before?

HH,
Did you by chance check out the Microsoft Webcast on this issue. Because
Microsoft Visual Studio .Net 2003 was not actually setup to be deployed
through Active Directory (GPO) you have to do some added steps when adding
it to Active Directory.
The webcast should be able to assist with these steps.
