I cannot install VisualC++.Net 2003.  It keeps giving the erro

Error 1335.The cabinet file '_1022_Rosebud.msm' required for this installation is corrupt and cannot be used. This could indicate a network error, an error reading from the CD-ROM, or a problem with this package

I suppose this file is created during the setup process because there is no rosebud.msm on the disks or on my harddisk

Any help would be appreciated

Error 1335 is most commonly caused by a corrupted CD image. What is the
source of your Visual C++ .NET? If it was downloaded (as part of Visual
Studio .NET) from MSDN, you may want to try re-downloading the image and
creating a new CD.
There have also been problems with certain DVD ROM drives and data
corruption. Do you have an alternate drive you can try? For any drive you
are using, you may want to check with the manufacturer for firmware updates.
There have also been several articles posted that suggest that turning DMA
off for the install drive (turn it back on after the install) may help.
If you have CD's from a retail package, and try more than one drive without
success, contact Microsoft for media replacement.

Thanks, Peter

I have two drives--a Panasonic DVD writer and an HP CD writer.  Both give the same error.  I have made a network share to get the CD's onto the HD.  There were no errors in copying but the install still failed the same way.  I'll give Microsoft a call

Attempting to install over a network has its own unique set of pitfalls.
Do you have room to copy the CD's to a local drive and try from there?

Yea, the network install was actually local. As was mentioned, it didn't help
