As you want to hear from a Microsoft rep, have you set up your posting alias
so you are recognized as a MSDN subscriber?
If you have not, go to the managed newsgroups page after logging on with
your subscriber ID to get the instructions.

Hi Koen,
As for the Professional edition of VS 2008, it has been available on MSDN
subscriber download site for long time. Sure, it'll be better to use the
PRO version VS 2008 as its a complete version instead of Trial one. Are you
wondering how should you do with the existing Trial one? I think you should
completely remove the existing Trial version before you install the vs 2008
professional one from MSDN download site.
Sincerely,
Steven Cheng
