i have downloaded the visualstudio 2008 90days trial version from microsoft
website. At the time of installing components, setup failed during install
of microsoft document explorer 2008. i tried to install vs2008 in almost
three systems, the same kind of error repeated.
error log says : missing cabinet file for dexplore.exe (microsoft document
explorer 2008) in path d:\vs2008\setup...\wcu\dexplore\dexplore.exe

Have you tried downloading the trial again? It sounds like your ISO may be
corrupt.

Apparently, I think the entire iso is corrupted. MS Doc Expl 2008 failed on
XP, but then vs_bsln.exe failed on Vista 2008, and WebDesignerCore.exe failed
on Vista 64, too. VS 2008, after finding replacement downloads for above,
managed to install VS 2008 on Vista 64. When I find a 'working' download for
MS Doc Expl 2008, I'll post the link. Good luck!
