.NET Forum / Visual Studio.NET / Setup / January 2008Can't install VS2008: "looking for vcredistmin_x86.exe"
I trying to install VS.NET 2008 using my MSDN DVD (disk 4400). I have a Lenovo Thinkpad T60. I am getting the following error: "Setup is looking for file vcredistmin_x86.exe. Please insert Microsoft Visual Studio 2008 Professional Edition - ENU disk 1 now." It then has a file browser. Now this file seems to live in \WCU, but it says "The chosen path is invalid. Click OK to select a different folder." On inspection, vcredistmin_x86.exe has a length of zero bytes. Please help! That image works fine, IME, whether you burn it to DVD or mount it in virtual optical drive software (like Daemon Tools, etc.) and install directly from the image.
