copy instead of direction?

i add a existing file on VC++;
but it's not copy to a folder

i'm afride i will change the original file
do you know a way could help me crete a copy when i add existing file?

Your best bet is to just manually copy the file to the directory you want,
and then add it to the project.  

If you are thinking of file versioning and want to be able to go back to
older versions of a module, I would recommend looking into Microsoft Visual
Sourcesafe.
