I am trying to install Visual Studio .NET on XP Professional Service pack 2.
I was able to install IIS however, still getting a message Front Page
Extentions are not installed. I do not see an option to install Front Page
Extentions in Add/Remove Programs: Add Components. Please advise how I can
setup VSNET to so i can develop web applications.
Thanks,
Ashhad

IIRC, that dialog provides a link to instructions for installing the
extensions?
Another point which may obviate the need:
Unless you intend to use your PC as a *remote* server for ASP.NET apps
involving nonlocal clients, you won't need the extensions.
In other words, if you plan to use your PC as a development machine,
employing IIS as your *local* web server (localhost), you don't need the
extensions.

Peter thanks for the suggestion. I went ahead and installed the software
without front page extentions. But now I am getting another problem:
I moved the code and project files from another machine to this new
installation. When I try to open the project I get the following message:
Visual Studio .NET has detected that the specified web server is not running
ASP.NET 1.1. You will be unable to run ASP.NET web applications or services.
Why am I getting this message when I installed the appropriate software from
the Pre-req cd? What is the fix?
Thanks,
Ashhad

When did you install IIS, after VS 2003, perhaps?
Regardless, follow the instructions in Knowledge Base Article 306005.
