Hi there,

I intend install and use the all new VS.Net 2005 express for C# on my
laptop. However can I install on my system which is XP Professional
with SP1? I realized that SP2 is the requirement stated in the express
readme http://msdn.microsoft.com/vstudio/express/support/readme/ ,but
due to personal reasons I intend not to install my OS with SP2. Anyone
who managed to install and run VS.Net 2005 express successfully on a XP
Pro with SP1?? Appreciate your feedback, guidence and help...

Cheers,
Philip

I tried to install VS 2005 Beta 2 on an XP PC without SP2, and the installer
popped up a dialog demanding that SP2 be installed and refused to continue
without it. I strongly suspect you'll encounter the same thing if you
attempt VC# 2005 Express. The download is free, however, so it won't cost
you anything to try.
