Questions for any Developer that has their system setup for VS 6 and .Net
2005 development:  The PC is running Win 2K Professional.

I have a Visual Studio Enterprise version 6.0 SP 5 development system that
is used to primarily develop VB 6 and VC++ apps.  It is also used to create
installers with visual studio installer.  Is there any prerequisite tasks
that I should perform before I install Visual Studio.NET 2005 ?  Like change
any registry settings ?  or remove any software ?  is it better to install
.Net over VS 6 or vice versa ?  I've seen posts relating to Visual Interdev
being rendered broken.  Can I do anything about that prior to installing
.Net or is it a processing of debugging the installation after it has
botched stuff up ?

Actually I have had VS6. VSNET2003 and VS2005 installed in my machine, and they work fine for me.
Prior installing Visual Studio.NET 2005, I would suggest you installing .NET Framework and Compact Framework v2 manually, they can be found under "VSTS\vs\wcu
\NetCF and VSTS\vs\wcu\dotNetFramework".

And when you meet any problems, please feel free to get back to me.

Thanks and regards,

VS 2005 can be installed after VS 6.  VB projects are completely independent
of each other as there are no common extensions.  VC++ projects will convert
to VS 2005 when you click on the project files.

Thanks, I'm supposed to get my MSDN .Net 2005 DVD's in the next week or 2
and I will be working on this setup very soon.
