I'm trying to install VS 2005 RC (50727) onto my XP Pro machine and it locks
near the beginning.

The initial progress bar goes to 100% completion and the title bar then
'dims' but nothing happens.
The UI reads "Setup is loading installation components" (I've left it for 4
hours at that point and it hasn't advanced).

I previously installed Beta 2 with no problems and I have rigourously
removed the old installation.
The matching SQL server 2005 install works fine, I have tried installing it
first, then removing it and installing VS but it always hangs in the same
place.

I've tried cleaning the machine as much as possible: No AV, no anti-spyware,
no previous CLR, no previous Visual Studio, up to date on Windows update.

Any ideas?
