hello all,
I have been using this successfully for about a year, but now all of a
sudden I can't open certain solutions anymore. VS just crashes while it is
trying to open all the projects in the solution. I have tried creating a new
solution and adding all projects again but at some point it will crash. My
solution has 14 projects - 7 application and 7 setup projects.
I have tried to install the VS 2002 .net service pack 1 but it says:
"The upgrade patch cannot be installed by the Windows Installer service
because the program to be upgraded may be missing, or the upgrade patch may
update a different version of the program. Verify that the program to be
upgraded exists on your computer and that you have the correct upgrade patch"

I don't understand why I get this dialog box because this is the service
pack that gets downloaded when I go to help-Check_for_Updates, so whatever MS
VS judges is the correct update, *should* be the right one - correct?

I had to repair my installation and then I tried to install the service pack
1, which I had to do twice, the first attempt failed with an internal error.
The service pack 1 installation takes a loooong time, so don't get impatient.

VS seems to be working ok again.
