Thanks very much for your reply. If we can't remove it through "Add/remove program", I suggest you remove them manually.

As I mentioned in the second part of my original question, I already tried to
uninstall .NET manually using the instructions you mentioned and got the same
results - the uninstall still hangs.

In the article, it uses Microsoft Windows Installer to cleanup the cache and uses MSIZap.exe to cleanup the registry. The article provides11 steps to remove vsnet2003,
when you say "the uninstall still hangs.", could you let me know which steps the hangs occur?
