the setup is cancelled "Error 1322.A portion of the folder path '' is
invalid.  It is either empty or exceeds the length allowed by the system."

here is a part of the log

I got the same error.  The things I tried were uninstalling Crystal Reports 10 (since I thought that the webformviewer in the error might be related to Crystal) and manually removing every registry key containing "Microsoft Visual Studio 8".  Not sure which one did the trick, but I was able to install after that.  Hope this helps!

Also occurs to me that I cleared the prefetch cache.  Probably not relevant,
but I thought I'd mention it just in case.

Great!  Glad to hear it.  I submitted this bug a few days ago.  You can go
confirm it here if you'd like:

At least that way they'll know it's not just me.  :-)

i never didn't uninstall it. I will give this a try.
