Hi all, I have a laptop with vsnet 2003 enterprise developer installed on
it. Can I install vsnet 2005 team beta 2 on the same machine and run them
side by side?

thanks!

Yes, you can.  I have successfully installed 2005beta on a machine which
have installed vsnet2003. But note that after you installed 2005, all vsnet
supported file type will be associated with the 2005, you need to use open
with to have it openned in 2003 ide.
And if you meet any problem in installing, please feel free to post in this
group.

Thanks and regards.

How will that effect all my existing applications which are built on 1.1? I
am presuming VS2005 will install .net 2.0 and will that break my existing
apps?

thanks

No, the frameworks will be installed separately, and the two Visual Studios
will coexist peacefully. However, as Rhett pointed out, VS supported file
types will be associated with the most-recently installed version of Visual
Studio, so you'll need to be careful when opening your v1.1 solutions. Do
not just double-click on the .sln file, as that will invoke VS 2005. You'll
need to open VS 2003 first, then open your chosen solution.
