I just bought it, and try to activate it, however, I can neither activate it
on internet nor telephone, both said invalid id number, I installed it
without any problems using the product key on cd box, it is obviously a valid
key, I have no idea how it come, now things getting worse,  since the key is
recognised as 'invalid' I cannot get any help from ms, because simply I
cannot give a valid key, it's interesting I called a assistant, she just told
try to reboot the system and it might work,  well what should I do next??
return the product???

It's really bad I cannot get any useful info from microsoft neither thought
internet nor telephone services, they just tranfer it to another guy all the
time, finally, I get nothing from them, REALLY REALLY BAD!!! I always use
freewares, the only two commercial applications in my system are winxp and
vs.net, but I cannot use it at all, how can I trust microsoft any more???
I reapeat my problem here, I just purchased vs.net 2003 academic, install it
without any problems, then I try to activate it with installation ID,
however, it never worked, the system gives me a error message said "invalid
id", or "the product is not supported" throught telephone...

installation ID????

Where are you and what telephone contact have you made with Microsoft
(please cite number(s) and location(s))?
Where did you purchase the product, and is the retail boxed product or some
other distribution? It wasn't purchased used, by any chance, was it?
If you can supply some details, I'll do the best I can to find you the help
you need.

I'm in australia, can you help me as well, I've already given it up making
any calls, I bought it on www.studentdiscounts.com.au, it seems ok to me.
after I found the product cannot be activated through neither internet nor
telephone, I then call 132058, it's supposed an australian service call, what
they did is just pass the call from one to another, some of them are good, I
cannot complain anything except the fact I get nothing. I know it's pretty
hard to both of us, since I cannot give a "valid" installation ID, they
cannot give any useful helps. I just dont want to waste my money and time on
such things.
btw what details I need to provide?

Thanks very much for reporting your success! I was about to start
researching possible alternative contacts, and you've saved me that :)
Enjoy your Visual Studio!
