I had to format my main drive, I backed up the VS 2002 & 2003 files. Now when
I tryed to re-install 2003 I get an error "Please run the Visual Studio .NET
Prerequisites setup." or if I go through the main setup folder, I get "Setup
was unable to copy the file C:\xxx\xxx\\xxx\Visual Studio .NET Professional
2003 - English\setup\DeleteTemp.exe to your temporary directory. Please make
sure that this file exists and rerun setup."
I have searched for this file, but cant find it.
Did I deleate it with the format?
Can I get it back?

I have VS 2003 on my laptop also, but cant find the file.

Thanks for any help.

If you formatted the drive Visual Studio was installed on, then reinstalled
the OS, you're going to have to reinstall Visual Studio from the
distribution media. You can't copy back or reinstall from just the saved
files and have it work. When Visual Studio was first installed, all sorts of
information critical to proper Visual Studio operation was written to your
registry, which is now gone.

It was the download that MSDN offered about 2 years ago. I had the MSDN
subscription and VS 2002. They offered the upgrade online, but no CD.
Is there a way to still download it?
Thanks Peter.

Not unless you still have a MSDN subscription. With the appropriate
subscription the full VS 2003 product is available for download. There is no
VS 2002 to 2003 upgrade available for download.
Failing that, there is a trial version available here:
