I'm trying to install VS 2003 on a new laptop.  It will not let me override
to drive to install on.

When I installed on my old laptop, a year ago or so, I could override the
drive and the complete product is installed on a drive other than c:

Old laptop has W2000 server
New laptop has WXP Pro

Any Ideas????

Thanks
JEK

Any history of failed installs or installs of trial or beta versions on that
PC?
The symptoms you describe most typically occur when there are leftovers from
previous and/or failed installs on the PC in question.

JEK,

If you have installed an integrated version of MSDN Library (i.e. Jan
2005), Visual Studio .NET should default to install on the same drive as it
is installed to.  You won't be able to change the drive letter under these
circumstances.  If you want to install VS onto a different drive, you must
uninstall the library and install them both to the other drive.
