Hi, I'm trying to install VS2003 Architect on a XP Pro machine. After running the pre-req CD I'm at step 2: You're now ready to install VS .NET 2003. Clicking on the link starts the wizard of Help & Support customization with 3 choices: Modify, Repair, Remove.
I tried each of the 3 choices but setup will not continue after that, I don't see anything else on the screen, nowhere to go.
I would appreciate anyone input on solving this puzzle!
Thanks.
Moshe,
It seems that you already have the MSDN Library installed. If it were not
installed, you would see a completely different dialog asking you whether
you wished to perform a Minimal or Full installation. In regards to the
reason the installation could be hanging, the first place to look is
usually your Antivirus or Firewall software. Script Blocking and Filter
Drivers can cause Windows Installer package installations to hang, because
many custom actions use VB Scripts to perform operations.

Thanks Mark;
I should have mentioned that I had VS2003 installed earlier on a different
Hard drive, after removing the program (due to a lack of disk space)
following Microsoft procedure, I had the issue that I pointed out earlier. I
checked and verified that the program was not installed, however, I still
could not get it to install.
Later I ran the setup again (not from disk 1 step 2) from the setup folder
and I got it to install OK. I'm not sure how that happened but after a few
reboots it worked out.
Thank you so much for your help and consideration.
A happy new year!
Moshe
