I went to install Visual Studio and then a window comes up that says that
"Setup has detected that some of the system components that are installed on
your computer do not match the versions required for Visual Studio .NET. You
must install a different version of these components." I don't know what i
should do about this will someone please help me out.

If you could supply some additional information, it will help readers get to
the solution.
What OS and SP level are you trying to install on?
Is there any specific amplifying information with the error message beyond
your quote?
