I cannot find the template for creating Work or Excel projects. I can only
see templates to create add-ins for Office. How do I get the templates for
Word and Excel. I can use Visual Studio 2003 or 2005.

Visual Studio 2005 Tools for the Microsoft Office System is actually a
separate version of Visual Studio which can be purchase separately.  See
here:  http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/vs2005/aa700919.aspx
