Outlook 2003 add-in

Hi all,

I have VS2005 Pro, and will have Outlook 2003 shortly (its on order).
I also have VSTO as part of my MSDN subscription, although it won't
install (probably b/c I'm only running the trial version of outlook
until the paid for version comes in).

It sounds like VSTO requires the professional version of Outlook, for
the developer and anyone that wishes to use the add-in developed.  Is
this the case?  If it is, will I still be able to develop an outlook
add-in using VS2005 Pro + the PIA assemblies?  Does the PIA still
function properly in .Net 2.0 (I'd think it would, but thought i'd
ask).

Thanks
Andy

Andy:
You can develop against the Outlook 2003 Stand alone version also.  I just
finished developing a VS2005 Outlook Addin using the PIAs and everything
functions properly.  One good tool that I just found that can help you is
out is the PSS Troubleshooter from Eric Carter and company.  It can be found
at:

This tool can determine what you need to dev and deploy your .NET 2 addin.

Regards,

Thaddaeus.

Thaddaeus,

Thanks for the info.  We did buy the stand-alone version, so I think
we'll be fine.
