I am trying to create a new tab in vs 2008 and it tells me that one already
exists with that name.  I can't see it.  How do I find an existing tab if I
can't see it in vs 2008.  Is it located in the registry or somewhere on my
hard drive?

Try to right mouse click in ToolBox and select "ShowAll".

VS2008 will hide the "tab" which is not available in current project.
e.g. hide the "Web" tab page in windows app project.
