Is there any way to stop the vs2005 winform designer from creating an event
handler in your code when you double click on a control?

I find that the ide has a very loose definition of "double click" so I often
find myself being automatically switched into code view in the middle of a
newly created event handler (typically for <controlname>_Click).

I can't find an option that turns this off.

Thx
Marc

Hello Marc,

I'm sorry, but I'm afraid to say, as far as I know, there is no option to
turn off this behavior.
When we double-click on control, VS IDE will switch to code page, and add
click event handler automatically. This is very helpful on coding and we
cannot stop it.
We are indeed sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused.

By the way, if you really have concern on this very much,  we suggest you
can also post the issue to our Connect feedback portal.
Our developer will evaluate them seriously and communicate with you
directly on the issue there.

up response may take approximately 2 business days as the support
professional working with you may need further investigation to reach the
most efficient resolution. The offering is not appropriate for situations
that require urgent, real-time or phone-based interactions or complex

handled working with a dedicated Microsoft Support Engineer by contacting
