I am having problems with VS 2008 that I installed after installing Vista +
SP1. The IDE would say "Could not load file or assembly
'Microsoft.Web.Authoring' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find
the file specified." whenever editing user controls in Design mode and when
in Source mode intellisense does not work and IDE does not recognize the tags
like asp: etc.

Anyone else had this problem? I found information on the web regarding beta
versions that some KB updates have something to do with it. I am wondering if
I uninstall VS 2008, uninstall Vista SP1, then reinstall VS 2008 and after
that install SP1 problem might go away. It is a long shot and time consuming
so I would need some first hand advice first.

Best regards

I would recommend repairing the installation of VS2008, and make sure that
you have everything selected to be installed. Maybe some components were
left behind, or your installation is corrupt.

This shouldn't have anything to do with SP-1. (Note the use of the word
'should').
