we're having trouble with the nice unload project / edit project feature in
VS2008 : in certain solutions only, you can unload a project, click on the
edit project menu item and - nothing happens. If you start a new solution and
add projects to it, the feature works OK, so maybe it's something in the
solution/project files.

Anybody else experienced this ? Any ideas about how to debug & fix it ?

It could be that those certain solutions are Windows apps. (that are created
as temporary projects until you explicitly save them).

The unload/edit feature is so you can edit the proj files in a solution.
I'm guessing that if the solution hasn't been saved to disk yet, then there
is nothing to edit.

Thanks Scott, but these are project files which have been around for a while
and you can edit them as XML files in Notepad or another copy of VS2008 for
example. Actually the problem only afflicts some projects in the solution and
the feature works OK for other projects in the same solution. Weird.
