I had a DVD rom installed on my computer, then when I tried to install a
DVD+/-RAM, both the drives no longer show up under my computer and when i try
to restart the computer it takes about an hour.

im not really sure this is the place for that kind of question.. but does
the BIOS show the drives correctly? i'm going to assume you have IDE drives,
did you check the Master/Slave settings? you might have them both set to
master or something of the such...

In case you thought this newsgroup was about IDE disk drives, it's not. It
is for the Integrated Development Environment for Visual Studio .NET. Try a
hardware group.
