I have installed VST on my notebook and my workstation. When ever I start e.g. on Notebook the VST, close it and afterwards on workstation, then this startup display and delay occurs. Example: - New Install - Start on Notebook -> initial screen (OK) - Start on Notebook -> (OK) - Start on PC -> initial screen (OK) - Start on PC -> (OK) - Start on PC -> (OK) - Start on Notebook -> initial screen (Failure) - Start on PC -> initial screen (Failure) Thanks Hi itisralph, Sorry, I'm not sure I have understood your issue completely. What do you mean by "VST". Is it Visual Studio Team Suit for Test? I never heard we will meet issue if installed it both on Notebook and workstation. Did I misunderstand anything here? By the way, does these two machines connected by network(Lan)? What if you disconnect your NoteBook from the network? Addon: The two installation of Visual Studio .NET 2005 are used by one user. It seems that Visual Studio stores some configuration data on the home drive of the user and if this config data ist altered by using the software on an different computer, it cannot be used again on the original one. Hi Ralph, Thank for your reply. According to your description, I understand you have installed Visual Studio 2005 Professional on NoteBook and workstation. However, when you open Visual Studio 2005 on NoteBook and then open another Visual Studio 2005 on work station, delay will occurse. Did I misunderstand anything here? I still cannot image what file they are somehow connected. Could you provide some detailed information about how did you install Visual Studio 2005 on your NoteBook and Workstation? In general, it should be <%Document and settings%>\useraccount\Visual Studio 2005\Settings folder. The file named CurrentSettings. Vssettings is your setting file. Visual Studio will load it when it starts. However, I'm still not sure how you installed Visual Studio. Have you resolved the issue so far? If not, could you clarify what do you mean by "Parallel Installation" for me? We can perform further research. I don't like this solution very much but it works this way. It would be nicer if the settings can be used by two instances (installations) of Visual Studio). Many product issues have been addressed in this Service Pack. Have a great day, Sincerely, Wen Yuan Microsoft Online Community Support Hi Wen Yuan, some people at our site already installed sp1 but it happened at one computer that additional problems with precompiled header appeared. After the deinstallation of the service pack was everything fine again. Another collegue reported that the build process within his Visual Studio became terribly slow as soon as he installed the Service Pack 1. It worked fine again, after the removal. We will use the solution with the changed configuration location of visual studio because this works fine up to now. Thanks for your replies.
