hello,

I am having a problem since installing the DB Pro version of visual studio.
I am hoping to get some help.  Ever since I have installed DB Pro when i
close the IDE, I get a debug window pop up and it asks if I want to have VS
restarted.  The message that most often gets logged to the event log is this:

Faulting application devenv.exe, version 8.0.50727.762, stamp 45716759,
faulting module msxml6.dll, version 6.10.1129.0, stamp 4524fdeb, debug? 0,
fault address 0x0007c91f.

I have tried to update msxml to latest SP release but no help.  I have also
removed db pro but no help.  Before I installed db pro, sp1 was installed on
VS.  Additionally since I have have installed and even after removing db pro,
I re-applied SP1..just in case.  Please help.  Its more of an annoyance than
anything else but I would like a solution just the same.

Hi Rich,
Thanks for your waiting.

According to your description, the VS will crash when you close it. This
issue only occurs after you install DB Pro Version on Visual Studio 2005
sp1. If I misunderstand anything here, please feel free to let me know.

I have searched on both internet and KB. But this issue seems strange. In
fact, we haven't met such issue before, and also it seem like you can't
reproduce this issue on the other machine (isn't it? ) If you have the
reproduce steps, this will greatly help on research.

Some idea: Have you installed any 3rd party add-in on your Visual? If yes,
we suggest you can uninstall all these add-ins and open your Visual Studio
IDE again. Base on my experience, such crash issue could often be caused by
add-ins.

Hope this helps,
Sincerely,
Wen Yuan
