Is there some order to the project's MRU list? Is there some way to remove
projects?

You haven't specified which VS version you're running, nor which MRU list
you're looking at. AFAIK the ones in the File menu sort by timestamp last
opened. In VS2003, the start page MRU list seems to (annoyingly) sort by
creation date. In VS2005 this is remedied and they sort by date opened as
you'd expect.

If you click a project and it's no longer there, VS should offer to remove
it from the lists. Looks like you could do it manually by editing the
registry in HKCU\Software\Microsoft\VisualStudio\<Version
number>\ProjectMRUList.

My apologies, VS2005 team

This is what I would expect, and for some reason it isn't working. I don't
see any pattern to the lists' order.

It does.

I can.

Thanks Andy. It sounds like the list really should be in "date opened"
order. Mine isn't. I'll clear the registry entries, and start over. There
isn't a switch for this somewhere is there?

Hi,

There is no easy way to change or customize the Recent Projects feature of
VS. FWIW, my MZ-Tools add-in has a "Favorite Solutions" feature which allows
you to add/remove the solutions that you use frequently, since not all
recent projects are frequent projects:
