For some reason my MSDN documentation didn't install with Visual studio. All
the files are there but when I go to help there are no help files. Is there
a way to manually install the help files?

Hello Joe,

Did your installation completely successfully without errors and then you
are not able to view the documentation? is that correct as i understood?

or your installation completed

basically for msdn documentation installation, there is no tool to verify
the installation,
You receive a "The documentation is not installed" or "MSDN collection does
not exist" error message when you try to access Visual Studio .NET Help

and i think hardest way is to reinstall your msdn, no other go.

but for visual studio installation issues you could use TTOOL.EXE,

other things you could try are:

Documentation subwindows do not appear in their default locations in Visual
Studio .NET, in the MSDN Library, or in the TechNet Viewer

HTH,
Ram

we care for your issue to be resolved, good luck
