VS2005 IDE auto inserting parentheses

Somehow my VB2005 IDE is getting in a mode where it thinks every character I
type is the name of a function or procedure. It auto inserts parentheses for
me and I cannot edit them out or delete them in anyway.  The IDE thinks it
knows better than I do what I am trying to type.

For example, if I want to type a new line of code that starts with 'Me.___',
the IDE produces 'm()' immediately upon typing the 'm'.  It produces 'm(e)'
immediately upon typing the 'e'.  The only way I have found to get out of
this mode is to close and reopen the project.  What am I doing to get into
this mode and how do I stop it?

Are you using any License controls in your project? .licx files?
do you have any add-in installed?
is this happening with all the projects? then your intellisense might be
doing something wrong?

try these
devenv.exe /safemode /resetskippkgs
devenv.exe /resetsettings

I may be using License controls because I have seen messages asking if I want
to save.  I do not know what a license control is, however.  And, although I
am not using any add-ins, I am using controls from Developer Express.

Hi,

Is this behaviour observed only in this machine, i mean with this project
and in this machine?
when you use the same project in the other machine, do you get the same
symptom?
is this happening only to this project in this machine, or have you ever
experienced any other projects behaving the same?
did you have checked the Tools->Options->Text Editor-> (options available
here), did u made any modifications recently?
have this project ever been working properly, and suddenly this behaviour?
is this a migrated project from 2003?
did you have installed any hotfix recently?
licensed controls are easily found: search for *.licx in your project
directory

sorry for lot of questions, but need to get them all to give you a better
solution, since only one feature of intellisense is behaving wrongly we need
figure that out?
