Hi

I have been working my way through "Visual Basic 2005: The Language", a
Microsoft Press book by Francesco Balena and in the "Debugging Windows
Applications" chapter a walkthrough example states that I need to "Select
the Test Manager command from the Window submenu of the Test top-level menu
to display the window from which you can decide which tests to run.".

The Windows submenu on my installation has 4 "commands" on it: -
   Test View
   Test Results
   Code Coverage Results
   Test Runs

but no Test Manager!

I have Microsoft Visual Studio 2005 Team Edition for Software Developers
Version 8.0.50727.42  (RTM.050727-4200)
and Microsoft .NET Framework Version 2.0.50727

   Installed Edition: Enterprise

   Microsoft Visual Basic 2005
   Microsoft Visual C# 2005
   Microsoft Visual C++ 2005
   Microsoft Visual J# 2005
Microsoft Visual Studio Tools for the Microsoft Office System
   Microsoft Visual Web Developer 2005
Microsoft Visual Studio 2005 Team Edition for Software Developers
Crystal Reports for Visual Studio 2005

Please can someone tell me how to go about getting this command installed on
the Test->Window submenu?

Hi Ian,

Thank you posting!

I am afraid the Test Manager is only available in Visual Studio Team
Edition for Software Testers and in Visual Studio Team Suite. The Visual
Studio 2005 Team Edition for Software Developers version doesn't have this
feature.

Thanks!

Best regards,

Gary Chang

Hi Gary

thanks for your help.

Francesco Balena's book gives the impression that if you have the Visual
Studio 2005 Team Edition for Software Developers, the Test Manager should be
available. It seems I can still run the tests but by just using the Test
View command.

Regards

Ian
