I have a very odd problem. For many months I had been able to debug my
windows form just fine. Now all of a sudden when I try to debug, I see
the
project compiling OK, but then the form doesn't come up, and the studio
just
hangs. It doesn't respond to anything and all I can do is kill it.
Just
before it started doing this (maybe a day before), the form would come
up
once, but then the studio would also hang if I close the form or select
"Stop
Debugging" from the studio. I've tried everything for days... System
restore, clean up free disk space, clear out event log, uninstall
McAfee,
uninstall aol, etc, etc. I've even deleted and re-installed the 1.1
.NET
Framework. Does anyone have any ideas? Thank you.

When I hit the debug button on the menu in VS 2003, the app starts compilling
(Status bar says "Build Started") and then VS2003 just disappears. I don't
get any error messages or anything. It doesn't show in the TaskManager
application tab. This seems to be intermittent, but I may have to open VS
three or four times before it will finally run. Sometimes I have to restart
the computer.
My machine is a new Dell with a PentiumD processor with 2GB ram running
WindowsXP. I didn't have this issue on my old machine.

Looks like there is a hotfix for the IDE disappearing (MSKB Article ID :
829606 ). Don't know if this disappearing relates to original post of the IDE
Hanging.
