Visual Studio 2005 slow when opening projects

Hello,

I'm using Visual Studio 2005 (8.0.50727.42  RTM 050727) and have
noticed that when opening a project the system is very sluggish.
Actually where it is slow is *before* opening the project. It is when I
use the Open Project dialog and I'm navigating to the drive/folder of
the project. When I double click on a folder there is a good 30 second
pause until the list displays)

Is there a fix for this? Is this the newest version of VS2005 or are
there any updates available?

Thanks
Mike McWhinney

If you're using VSS the delay has to do with updating the list of "Pending Checkins" when opening the project.  When I open up a solution, I usually expand the "Pending Checkins" window and wait for it to finish before doing anything else.  It's a pain, but a good opportunity to get a cup of coffee. :)
