In Visual Studio 2003 I was able to switch back & forth between code view and
markup view of an asp.net page using F7 and shift-F7.

In Visual Studio 2005, "F7" still works (maps to View.ViewCode) but Shift-F7
doesn't work from code view. The command View.ViewDesigner works from code
view, but it takes you to the design view.  The command View.ViewMarkup works
only if you're in design view but not if you're in code view.

Is there no way to switch from code view directly to markup view? This was a
very useful feature in VS 2003 that seems to not exist in VS 2005.

(For anyone that doesn't use design view and always deals directly with the
HTML, this is a must)

I am afraid the View.ViewMarkup command only works in the HTML Design View,
this is bedesign in Visual Studio 2005. I think you can press the F7
shortcut then Shift-F7 to swich to the HTML Markup view from the Code
behind view.

Meanwhile, I do unerstand your concern on this issue. The absence of this
feature in VS2005 must have caused quite a bit of inconvenience.  I will
forward this feedback to our corresponding product team.

By the way, you can also submit your feedback to our product feedback
