Control declaration does not include id="TextBox1" attribute?

When I drag a control from the Toolbox the generated control declaration no
longer includes an id attribute. Typing it in can get a bit tedious. I may
have fragged a setting but wonder how I may reset the IDE to write a
complete declaration when dragging a control from the Toolbox?

Try Tools | Options | Text Editor | HTML | Miscellaneous | Auto ID on paste.

Thanks

Thanks. That sucker was really buried in a wierd location but checking that
option still does not generate the ID. I'll try closing VS2005 and
restarting.

VS2005 is really buggy for me. Amongst other things, when I select a control
signature in HTML source view the meta data is not shown in the Properties
window. Once in awhile they show up. Mostly not. VS2005 is killing me.

The problems just went away when I explicitly declare the MasterPage in the
@Page directive of the content page I was working in even though I have
declared the MasterPage in the web.config pages element.
