Dancing IDE

Occasionally when opening or closing a window in the IDE the entire
IDE will start dancing around and become unresponsive for several
minutes.

By dancing around I mean the menubar will go back and forth between
what appears to be some sort of full screen mode and a windowed mode.
When this starts to happen all of the toolbars and other windows will
start responding to its changes.  When it finally stops I have to
minimize it, if possible, or minimize the entire desktop and then
restore the window to get it back working.

This is happening on my work and home machines several times a day.

Is anyone else seeing this type of behavior?

To see this behavior in action:

 Start a new WinForms Project
 Open the Project Properties Page
 Open the Settings Tab
Expand the first row of the Settings Row
 Open the Form Designer
 Close the Form Designer

Now watch the IDE dance for several minutes.
