Hi,

Is XSLT debugging an included feature of VS2005 Standard?  I used it in
Beta2 but it seems to be disabled in VS2005 Standard.

I also cannot get the XSL intellesense to work for
xmlns:xsl=http://www.w3.org/1999/XSL/Transform

Thanks,
Mike

Try the Stylus Studio XSLT debugger:
http://www.stylusstudio.com/xslt_debugger.html
It supports debugging with both MSXML -
http://www.stylusstudio.com/microsoft/msxml.html and System.XML -
http://www.stylusstudio.com/microsoft/systemxml.html

Sincerely,

Hi Mike,

I am afraid the XSLT debugging is only available in the Visual Studio Team
System and the Professional Edition, the Standard doesn't provide this
feature.

Do you mean when you add a new XSLT file in VS2005(its default namespace is
http://www.w3.org/1999/XSL/Transform), you do not get any intellisence with
it or any other scenario?

Thanks!

Hi,

Thanks for the response.

I looked at the VS version product features page
http://msdn.microsoft.com/vstudio/products/compare/default.aspx
Apparently "Full XML/XSLT" doesn't include XSLT debugging.

Yes when I create or open a XSL/XSLT file there is no intellesense.  The VS
documentation http://msdn2.microsoft.com/library/ms255821(en-US,VS.80).aspx
mentions a XSLT.XSD in the schema cache but I don't have it.  Of course it
might be a part of the Pro version too.

Thanks,
Mike

I am afraid that article doen't figure it out, I suggest you can refer to
the following one:

Debugging XSLT
http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms255605.aspx

yes, the xslt.xsd should be shipped with the Visual Studio 2005
Professional version, you can locate it in the ..\Microsoft Visual Studio
8\XML\Schemas directory, I am not very clear why the installation of your
VS2005 Pro hasn't installed it, but I think you can copy it from any other
machine which installed it or I can provide it to via email...

Thanks!

Hi,

Sorry Gary.  I'm using VS2005 Standard.

The product feature page says "Full XML/XSLT" for VS2005 Standard.  However
the VS2005 documentation  says "XSLT debugging is available in the Visual
Studio Team System and the Professional Edition."

I'll try to locate the xslt.xsd file somewhere.

Thanks,
Mike

I am afraid the "Full XML/XSLT" doesn't include the XSLT debugging, I think
we may need more clear clarification in that article. I will forward this
concern to our corresponding product team. Thanks for your understanding!

Have a nice weekend!
